collaboration between Singapore and the Chinese province of Zhejiang.
The agreements revolve around Singapore firms working with their Chinese
counterparts and government agencies to develop various facilities in China's
eastern coastal province.
More than 50 officials and company representatives from Zhejiang were in town
for the signing of the deals during the sixth Singapore-Zhejiang Economic and
Trade Council meeting.
One deal signed was a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Jurong
International, the urban design and planning arm of JTC Corporation, and
Zhoushan municipal government. It involves developing a masterplan for an
enterprise zone in Zhoushan Marine Science City.
International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and the Ningbo municipal government
also signed an MOU to extend their collaboration to 2012.
CleanTech Partners, a consortium of clean technology firms based here, also
used the occasion to seal the deal for the proposed Hangzhou-Singapore eco-park.
It will involve developing a 23ha site in the prime district of the Hangzhou
Qianjiang economic development area into a low-carbon industrial and commercial
park with apartments. <2010-03-24 Straits Times> |
